The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development are preparing proposals on benefits for the implementation of projects for the extraction of rare and rare-earth metals, said Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.
He noted that in this direction it is planned to create 24 chains with production facilities that will cover the entire cycle — from raw materials to final products. But not all projects are economically justified, the minister pointed out.
“Nevertheless, we are preparing proposals together with our colleagues from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development with possible some kind of benefits for such projects so that they <…> were implemented,” Alikhanov said.
In general, at the end of the next six years, it is planned to reach the level of production of 50 thousand tons of large-tonnage metals and to achieve a reduction in the share of imports to 45%. Now it is, according to the minister, “quite high” — about 75% and more for some items, TASS notes.
